Greece’s reputation as an idyllic luxury holiday destination is more than merited – pristine beaches, beautifully blue seas, captivating historical sites and mouthwatering cuisine are just some of the attractions to visitors far and wide. Pretty whitewashed villages with authentic Greek tavernas are invariably photogenic, as are the memorable sunsets that bathe the beaches and beyond in their warm light.
227 inhabited islands join the mainland, providing ample choice for mesmerising Mediterranean breaks – ancient sites don’t get much more impressive than in the country’s capital, Athens, where the Parthenon towers over the city from its hilltop position, unspoiled beaches stretch out along the coast in Halkidiki, and amazing natural wonders offer the ultimate setting for active exploring in Peloponnese. Greece’s islands all have their own unique character, and a range of luxury hotels in each reveals the highlights to guests.
