Ethical Elephant & Beach Experience

This trip highlights Thailand at it's best. Spend three nights exploring the bustling capital city of Bangkok, take a cruise along the Chaophraya River, visit the Grand Palace or enjoy a cocktail and one of the cities many rooftop bars. After the buzz of the city fly north to Chiang Mai, become immersed in a quieter part of Thailand known for it's fascinating temples and preserved ancient worship sites. From here, access The Bush Camp and spend two days learning about and spending time with Asia's gentle giants before flying south to Koh Samui, one of Thailand's best known islands and a destination brimming with natural beauty and unspoiled beaches.

place DAYS 1 - 3 - Bangkok

Bangkok

On arrival into Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, transfer to the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, your riverside retreat for the next three nights. From here, you are in a prime location for exploring the city, take a boat along the Chaophraya River or cross over to the popular ICON shopping centre. You might want to walk along to the bustling night markets at Chinatown or visit the impressive Grand Palace.

place DAYS 4 - 5 - Bangkok - Chiang Mai

Bangkok - Chiang Mai

After enjoying a final breakfast overlook the Chaophraya River, get ready to head to the airport to take a short flight north to Chiang Mai. Although this is Thailand's second largest city, the hilly and jungle surrounds, fresh air and laid back atmosphere make it feel worlds away from the busy capital. Take the time to walk around and you will be met with barefoot monks, floroushing markets and an array of temples and monasteries. 

place DAY 6 - The Bush Camp

The Bush Camp

This morning you will be collected from Tamarind Village and take a two hour transfer south to the Ping River where The Bush Camp is located. The two day one night package includes feeding and interacting with Asia's gentle giants, exploring the life of the mahouts and and observing how they live together with nature and their elephants, watching the elephants bathe and enjoying sundowners atop one of the many mountain-top viewpoints. 

place DAY 7 - Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai

Enjoy more time with the Elephants this morning before traveling back to Chiang Mai to spend a final night in this heritage city. Visit the Chiang Mai night bazaar, this popular attraction is open 7 nights a week and is a great place to browse everything from printed fabrics, organic coffee and woven baskets brought down from the local hill tribes.

place DAY 8 - Chiang Mai - Koh Samui

Chiang Mai - Koh Samui

Leave behind the cool of the north and fly down south today to Koh Samui, one of Thailand's best known beach destinations. Located in the Gulf of Thailand, the island experiences heavy rainfall from October to mid-December but is generally a sunny and always warm destination outside of these months. Towering limestone cliffs, sparkling waters and long stretches of beach surround the island while the interior is a mass of lush jungle.  

place DAYS 9 - 14 - Koh Samui

Koh Samui

Despite being able to drive around the island in just a couple of hours, Koh Samui offers a range of experiences to be enjoyed during your stay. Day trips to the nearby Ang Thong National Marine Park provide great opportunities for snorkeling and kayaking or embrace complete relaxation with a visit to Tamarind Springs Forest Spa, a stunning hideaway in the forest hillside. There are plenty of different beach to visit and enjoy and for some nightlife head to either Chaweng, a busy tourist spot or Fisherman's Village in Bo Phut.
