Rooms are named after tea planters who lived in the bungalow, offering a taste of colonial-era luxury with solid teak furnishings, antique touches and plush beds. Master Suites boast a separate living room and Garden suites a veranda opening onto private gardens.

Colonial life is reflected in the living rooms of the bungalows, finished with silk cushions, regency striped footstools and old books, prints and maps. Relax on a cushioned cane chair, waited on hand and foot by the discreet butler, or watch the lake and study the garden bees before retiring to the spacious bedroom - for a well deserved rest after a long trek.

The day at Ceylon Tea Trails starts with Bed Tea served by the butler as part of a gentle wake-up call. Enjoy an early morning walk, followed by an English or Sri Lankan breakfast made using fresh, home grown vegetables, herbs and teas from the surrounding estates. Scrumptious afternoon high teas in the gardens are both English and exotic at the same time.

In the evening, dine on a four course dinner created with fresh ingredients and married with a choice of wines, best shared in good company.

Ceylon Tea Trails has opened up a world of adventure and discovery in the Bogawantalawa Valley. The unspoiled beauty of the surrounding valleys and hills offer an unparalleled biking, hiking and walking experience. Pristine trails through immaculate tea gardens, at an altitude of over 1,500m, provide a wide array of activities for different levels of ability.

Experience the varied landscapes, exotic flora, abundant bird life and the sweet rhythm of life in a tea garden. A leisurely walk, an adventure trek or a challenging mountain bike ride provide rewards of vistas of mountain lakes, manicured tea gardens, forests and doll’s house villages.

Begin or end the day with a special aromatic bath, or just enjoy as a midday indulgence. Choose from Cinnamon Spice, Green Tea, Black Pepper & Orange, Jasmine or a Bergamot & Geranium Bath. Or luxuriate in an in-room spa treatment after a hike or bike ride to soothe any aches and pains away.

Approximately 5 hours from Colombo International Airport

The main south west monsoon brings rain to the Hill Country from April to September, making December to March the best time to visit. Sri Lanka's position close to the equator means that temperatures remain fairly constant throughout the year, although nights in the hills can be quite chilly.
