Cruise Itinerary

Day 5

Today is your first day at sea onboard the luxurious Seabourne Pursuit. Spend the day relaxing in the pool, indulging in the finest cuisine or enjoying the range of world class activities onboard.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 6

The first stop is Wyndham, Australia. This little town is located at the end of Australia’s Great Northern Highway and is surrounded by some of the Kimberely’s most spectacular landforms, wetlands and rivers. Head to Telegraph Hill in the Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve for incredible views over the Ramsar-listed wetlands, which is home to thousands of tropical birds and is an important stopover for migratory waders travelling from as far away as Siberia. Another must see is The Grotto, a spectacular gorge with a natural swimming hole located just 30 minutes south of Wyndham.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 7

Today you will cruise along the spectacular King George River. This incredible river flows 70 miles through an ancient gorge which is surrounded by towering red sandstone walls before it empties into Koolama Bay and the Timor Sea. Your cruise will drop its anchor in the bar and guests will board Zodiacs to venture up the mesmerising canyon carved almost 2 billion years ago. Your Zodiac journey will end at one of the most magical sights on Earth, the twin King George Falls, where whitewater plunges over a 328-foot-high cliff into the tidal waters below.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 8

Next your cruise will dock at Vansittart Bay, a beautiful and secluded bay located on Western Australia’s Northern Coast. Spend the day exploring its many tiny islands, pristine beaches, and secluded coves. Be sure to visit some of the numerous Aboriginal rock art galleries where you can see the mysterious Gwion, the oldest rock art known to man and one of two primary art forms found in the Kimberley.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 9

Today your cruise will dock at Ashmore Reef, one of Australia’s most remote marine parks. This reef became a marine reserve in 1983 and has the highest level of protection from human activities. The three islands of the reef are uninhabited but are home to a wide variety of bird and sea life. Every year around 100,000 seabirds from 40 different species fly to the reef to breed.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 10

Next you will cruise along Hunter River. This river rises on the rocky plateau of the Kimberley, in the Prince Regent National Park, and flows into the Prince Frederick Harbour and then into York Sound and the Indian Ocean. This remote wilderness is the perfect place for Zodiac cruising to see the saltwater crocodiles, sharks and birds of prey including ospreys and the distinctive Brahminy kites with their white heads and breasts. The river is also an important landmark feature to the local Wunambai Gaambera Aboriginal people, whose tradition holds that it is the abode of Wunggurr, the Creator Snake, and who call the river Kampamantlya where it joins the sea.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 11

The next destination on this incredible cruising journey is Kuri Bay, a beautiful remote bay located around 140 miles from Derby. This bay is home to an abundance of marine life including sharks, turtles and huge saltwater crocodiles. The bay is also part of the Prince Regent Nature Reserve, as well as the Kumunya Aboriginal Reserve. Be sure to visit the famous “horizontal waterfalls” created by the towering Montgomery Reef where the 10 metre tide change creates immense cascades of water off the sides as the reef-top “island” appears above the receding sea.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 12

Today your cruise will travel to Montgomery Reef, the world’s largest inshore reef. This reef covers an area of approximately 300 square kilometres and is home to a diverse range of marine life including turtles, octopuses, reef sharks, dolphins and manta rays. This reef forms part of Lalang-garram and Camden Sound Marine Park, an important calving and nursey site for the largest humpback whale population in the world.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 13

The next stop on your cruising journey is Freshwater Cove. This cove is also known as Wijingarra Bard Bard and is located in the heart of Worrorra country in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The waters of this stunning cove offer the perfect opportunity for fishing, from the open sea to hidden creeks.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 14

Today your cruise will travel to Talbot Bay. This Bay is home to the magnificent Horizontal Waterfalls, a natural wonder that is a must see in Australia. This phenomenon is the result of a unique combination of geology and massive tidal surges. The bay is also home to The falls, which is equally as mesmerising as the Horizontal Waterfalls. Nature lovers should be sure to take the opportunity to explore Turtle Reef, an incredible reef system which stretches for almost 10 miles and creates almost a bridge from Molema Island to the mainland at low tide. Turtle Reef is home to an abundance of turtles as well as dugongs, crocodiles and a wide range of fish species.

Cruise Itinerary

Day 15 – 17

Your cruise will end in Broome where you will then transfer to the Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa for a two night post cruise stay. Broome is a beautiful coastal town in Western Australia known for its pearling history, pristine beaches and diverse cultural heritage. Visit Australia’s most remote brewery, Matso’s Brewery, which have been making unique beers for over 20 years or head out on a sunset or sunrise cruise to try and catch a glimpse of the rare subfin dolphin.
