Days 1-5
Part of Sani Resort’s famed portfolio, Sani Dunes exudes comfort and elevation. The perimeter of Greece’s largest heated lagoon-style swimming pools hugs all rooms and suites, perfect for a morning or evening dip, while the white sand beach is exclusively serviced by the hotel meaning no comfort is left behind. Elsewhere, the island is split into three peninsulas of distinctive character, but all filled with spectacular beaches, turquoise waters and outstanding natural beauty.
Day 6
Oceania Allura departs from Athens, a city of beautiful temples, ancient sites and awe-inspiring moments. As the city lights fade, become better acquainted with this spectacular vessel which will quickly become home.
Day 7
Seriously underrated, Milos is authentically Greek with its luminous waters, secret beaches and delicious food. Over 40 dramatically diverse beaches are filled with unique colours and rock formations while on shore, ancient theatres, catacombs and 13-century castle remnants provide an excursion for every type of traveller.
Day 8
Visit ancient Katakolon where the Olympic Games began and stroll around the deserted sanctuary, temples, altars and treasuries that make up this historic place. Spot the ground where ancient athletes practiced before competing or tour the local vineyards, sampling wines, cheeses and other foods.
Day 9
Catania has been beautifully destroyed after an earthquake in the 17th century to now offer ancient churches, castles and amphitheatres to explore. Further inland, Villa Romana del Casale resides, a 4th century villa and UNESCO World Heritage Site that contains a complex collection of Roman mosaics considered one of the finest in the Roman world.
Day 10
A myriad of cultural layers of Malta, Valletta is filled with amazing prehistoric temples at Tarxien to beautifully medieval Mdina, nearby Rabat – a colourful fishing village. The stunning surrounding scenery is perfect for wandering through imposing churches and down the streets of fortified towns.
Day 11
Immerse yourself in the glorious history of the ancient city of Palermo. Its magnificent monuments, like the imposing Norman cathedral and the majestic 9th century Arab palace with its breathtaking Palatine chapel are ideal for exploration.
Day 12
A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Amalfi Coast is home to Salerno. One of the many towns and villages built into the shoreside cliffs, soak up the sublime atmosphere and picturesque moments that make up a snippet of this ruggedly beautiful coastline. Eager to explore more? Salerno is an ideal base for venturing further afield to destinations such as Positano, Sorrento and Ravello.
Day 13
Your final port of call is Rome and where this amazing adventure comes to an end. A fitting end to a journey filled with history, culture and beauty, the city is a final chance for exploration before your journey home.
