A night in Budapest marks the beginning of your journey through Europe. After some time to relax and explore the city, you'll board AmaSonata to begin your travels along the Danube River. Visit Bratislava, Vienna, Dürnstein and Melk during your first four days cruising, marvelling at the amazing architecture and beautiful landscapes, before continuing into Germany where rich history, UNESCO-listed sites and lovely scenery awaits. Your cruise ends in Nuremberg, where you'll dock for the night before disembarking and flying home.

With its beautiful medieval architecture and vibrant culture, Bratislava offers a wonderful blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication. Join a walking tour to see its highlights or scale the Bratislava Castle with its magnificent views of the city below.

Day 4

Discover the ‘City of Waltzes’ with its treasure trove of beautiful buildings and historical landmarks. A city tour showcases the highlights, including the majestic Opera House and the former Imperial Palace of the Habsburgs as well as visiting the UNESCO-listed historic centre and St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

Day 5

Arrive in the Wachau Valley in the morning and choose from a selection of excursions in Dürnstein, carefully designed to introduce the scenery and culture of the area. You then have the choice to either cruise through the Wachau Valley to Melk or join a bike tour along the Danube. On arrival in Melk, you can explore the magnificent UNESCO-listed Abbey, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture with breathtaking panoramic views.

Day 6

Sound of Music fans will be thrilled today, with the chance to disembark in Linz and spend a day in Salzburg! Those remaining on board will continue cruising to the medieval city of Passau. Choose between a walking tour introducing the city’s impressive architecture, a hike up to the Veste Oberhaus Fortress overlooking Passau or a guided bike tour along the Inn River.

Day 7

Explore Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a guided walking tour. Alternatively, get active on a bike trip to Walhalla to see the neoclassical white marble temple inspired by the Parthenon in Athens.

Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you cross the Continental Divide via the Main-Danube Canal to Nuremberg. Join a tour around the medieval city centre or learn about the city’s role in World War II with a visit to the infamous Zeppelin Field, the site of former Nazi rallies. You may like to sample some of the local cuisine, savouring traditional Franconian specialities including Nuremburger Bratwurst and Lebkuchen washed down with some Rot bier before retiring to the ship for your last night onboard.
