After landing at Cape Town International Airport, collect your hire car and head to your hotel for the next four nights.

Cape Town

Spend your time in Cape Town exploring and soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere of this vibrant city. You may choose to spend your time wandering the V&A Waterfront, journeying to the top of Table Mountain, or visiting Boulders Beach to see the penguins before continuing onto Cape Point.

Cape Town - Cape Winelands

Today depart for the scenic Cape Winelands. Stop off to explore the historic University town of Stellenbosch before continuing onto Franschhoek.

One of the most celebrated wine and food destinations in South Africa, the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, is a captivating blend of European charm and spectacular verdant scenery. Nestled between majestic mountain ranges, this picturesque town is home to a variety of historic wine estates and contemporary boutique wineries, many with their own superb restaurants.

Travel today to the Overberg - an area of fruit and grain farms, verdant wine-growing valleys and a coastal Riviera known for its charming towns and whale viewing. Swathes of colourful Cape Fynbos flowers, rocky shores and richly green vineyards are all part of the Overberg's essence.

Hermanus

During the calving season, Hermanus is arguably the best destination to view the Southern Right Humpback Whales. From June to December these migratory animals make their presence known in Walker Bay, with pods of up to 50 creatures frolicking close to land. Overberg highlights include Cape Agulhas, the southern-most tip of Africa and meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean.

Hermanus - Plettenberg Bay

Travel though some of South Africa's small towns including Swellendam, Mossel Bay and Knysna as you journey towards Plettenberg Bay. Spend some time lazing on the beautiful beach or exploring The Crags. Take a boat-based dolphin and whale watching trip from Plettenberg Bay and browse local boutique stores and craft shops.

Travel onwards through the seaside town of Jeffery's Bay and the city of Port Elizabeth before reaching your final destination, Kariega Game Reserve.

This malaria-free game lodge incorporates 10,000 hectares of pristine African wilderness, as well as two abundant rivers - the Kariega and the Bushmans rivers. You'll be able to enjoy morning and afternoon safaris where you will have the opportunity to spot the Big Five as well as a multitude of other South African wildlife from the comfort of an open game drive vehicle. Between safaris take one of the canoes for a leisurely paddle down either of the rivers and watch in blissful silence as the river birds and animals go about their daily business.
