place DAY 2 - Denver - Glenwood Springs

Denver - Glenwood Springs

Depart Denver and travel on board the Rockies to Red Rocks route. This two-day Rocky Mountaineer rail journey is filled with highlights best seen by train, including Ruby Canyon and Mount Garfield. Cross the Continental Divide as you take in the spectacular views of rugged canyons and the Colorado River before arriving at the resort town of Glenwood Springs for an overnight stay.

Glenwood Springs - Moab

Board the Rocky Mountaineer for day two of this epic rail adventure. Cross the Colorado-Utah border with stunning mountain views in the background. Red sandstone landscapes emerge as you approach Moab, the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Your journey ends upon arrival in Moab in the late afternoon.

Pick up your rental car this morning, you will need this to explore the vast areas of national parks over the next few days. More unique landscapes unfold in Arches National Park where visitors can find the world's largest concentration of natural sandstone arches or choose to join a national parks guide for a walking tour. Canyonlands National Park is even larger, to the south of Moab and offers more spectacular desert landscapes and sights. There are endless options for adventure during your stay in Moab. You can live the cowboy dream on a guided horse ride through the rockies or even try an unforgettable rock climbing experience.

Begin your four-hour drive today from Moab to Monument Valley. Located on the Utah-Arizona border, Monument Valley is home to many iconic rock formations and will leave you in awe of its spectacular scenery. Enjoy the wide open spaces and towering rock formations as you take the Valley Drive through the desert. Stay for one night in the heart of the national park and soak up the spectacular sunset.

Sedona

Wake up early and enjoy the sunrise at Monument Valley before hitting the open road and heading to Sedona. Take an optional detour and spend the day at the Grand Canyon or head straight to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon relaxing by the pool or indulging with a renowned spa treatment.
