Itinerary

place DAY 1 - Cape Town

Cape Town

Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met at the airport and transferred to your home for the next three nights. Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel is as a beautifully restored colonial building that sits in the shadow of Table Mountain. Check in and meet with your APT Tour Director and fellow travellers to enjoy a welcome dinner.

place DAYS 2 - 3 - Cape Town

Cape Town

Spend your first full day in South Africa taking a guided tour of the Castle of Good Hope, learning about the moving history of the Apartheid era and then taking in the panoramic vistas of Cape Town and beyond atop Table Mountain. The following day travel along Chapman's Peak, widely regarded as one of the most scenic stretches of road in the world, pass though quaint villages and coastal towns before reaching Cape Point, the southernmost tip of Africa. Before returning to the city enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a stop at Boulders Beach, home to a vivacious colony of penguins.  

place DAYS 4 - 5 - Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch

Take your pick this morning from three different activities, all designed to deepen your connection to the wonderful city of Cape Town and it's roots. Afterwards, head to Stellenbosch, known for it's picturesque streets, vibrant atmosphere and historic buildings set against a backdrop of magnificent mountains, sprawling wine farms and lush gardens. The following day there will be time to enjoy the amenities of your luxurious accommodation and explore the town of Stellenbosch on a fascinating walking tour.   

place DAYS 6 - 8 - Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park

Fly to Kruger today and transfer to your private lodge to spend three nights in the African bush, surrounded by abundant wildlife, including The Big Five along with over 300 bird species. Days are spent going out on game drives, joining guided bush walks, learning about the surrounding wilderness from your expert guides and reminiscing on your day while dining under the stars.  

place DAY 9 - Johannesburg

Johannesburg

After a final early morning game drive, board a flight to Johannesburg where you will spend the night in preparation for the onward travel to Livingstone. 

place DAYS 10 - 13 - Livingstone

Livingstone

This journey through Southern Africa concludes with a three night stay in Livingstone, the gateway to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. The journey may be coming to an end but there is so much more still to discover and this stay includes a tour of the Falls,optional sightseeing of a local village or along the banks of the Zambezi River as well as showstopping signature experiences including a helicopter flight above the falls and a gourmet dinner aboard the luxurious Royal Livingstone Express Steam train.
