Itinerary

place DAY 1 - Cape Town

Cape Town

Arrive into Cape Town and transfer to Welgelegen Guest House. Take the cable car to ascend Table Mountain, a great first day activity as the panoramic views allow you to observe the city from above and get your bearings of the surrounding neighborhoods, whilst enjoying the laidback vibes of fellow view seekers as the sun sets and a twilight glow descends upon the Mother City.

place DAYS 2 - 3 - Cape Town

Cape Town

With so much to see and do in Cape Town and its surrounding areas, your stay can be as busy or as relaxed as you wish. With a huge range of eateries, bars and shopping, it is easy to see why the V&A Waterfront is such a hotspot for visitors to the city. This is also where the ferry departs for those wanting to take a visit to Robben Island, or you may prefer spending time in the chic Camps Bay area.

place DAYS 4 - 5 - Franschhoek

Franschhoek

Known for its breathtaking scenery, rich history, exquisite wine estates and renowned culinary scene, Franschhoek is often referred to as the food and wine heartland of South Africa. Spend two nights at Last Word Franschhoek, a great base for exploring this charming town and surrounding vineyards.

place DAYS 6 - 7 - Hermanus

Hermanus

The adventure continues today with a leisurely two-hour drive to the coastal town of Hermanus. Well-known for offering some of the world’s best land-based whale watching during the migratory months of June to October.

place DAY 8 - Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn

From the coast to the mountains, start to travel back in-land today to take an alternative route east from the traditional coastal drive. Take Route 62 through a variety of landscapes, from rugged mountain passes through semi-arid deserts and charming rural towns. Admire the breathtaking views and changing landscapes as you journey further along this celebrated route.

place DAY 9 - Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn

Today is an action-packed day. Awaken before the sun rises to set off on a meerkat safari. This is an intimate experience where you can observe these fascinating social animals, witnessing their morning routine as they prepare for the day. Afterwards take a visit to the Cango Caves, this interesting complex is one of the oldest in the country, and as you travel deeper into the carefully preserved wonder you will learn about the history of the indigenous people who inhabited the site. There is the opportunity to explore more of the breathtaking landscape this afternoon. A short drive from the caves is Swartberg Pass, a hair-raising mountain pass. Not for the faint-hearted, this winding and narrow pass demands a confident driver, however the views from the peak and the unbelievably dramatic landscape as you descend into the valley are not
to be missed.

place DAYS 10 - 11 - Knysna

Knysna
