Our Social Responsibility

At If Only… we consider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to be an essential, rather than optional, business practice.

The well being of our employees, neighbours, clients, partners and associated communities is carefully considered in every action that we take and we have implemented a CSR policy and adopted an occupational health and safety system. We have also engaged a Health and Safety Consultant to operate overseas on our behalf and encouraged the education of clients in the benefits of sustainable tourism, in particular preserving their environment and reducing their carbon footprint.

Sustainable tourism

If Only…is committed to Sustainable Tourism and has formalised a Sustainable Tourism Policy that aims to proactively reduce the company’s impact on the environment in the UK, Ireland and the destinations we promote.

Our featured destinations resorts, carriers and other suppliers are all asked to produce their own Sustainable Tourism Policies as part of their business agreement with If Only…, and staff visiting report back on local sustainable tourism issues.

Sustainable business practices

In the past few years we have significantly reduced paper usage and instigated processes to reduce energy consumption, including motion sensitive lighting systems.

Promotional material and brochures and produced from sources approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council and use printing process that have minimal environmental impact.

We have re-located our Head office to the centre of Glasgow convenient for rail and bus services plus operating a cycle to work scheme that reduces further the staff’s use of cars.

Charity work

Over the past few years, members of the If Only… team have completed in events such as the Race for Life, in aid of Cancer Research UK, and both the Great Scottish Run and the Travel Trade Crusade, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Fundraising by staff is regularly matched with a company contribution.
