Overview

If Noël Coward were to holiday in Thailand, The Siam Bangkok would be his hotel of choice - an opulent, art deco-inspired retreat which captures the elegance and glamour of the Jazz Age. In this Museé d’Orsay-inspired pile on Bangkok's chic riverside, expect cinematic interiors, glitzy style, and the very best of Thai hospitality. Stylish and remarkably spacious rooms are characteriased by black-and-white bases of marble and lacquered wood, accented with timeworn Buddhist art and sepia-toned maps.

What's nearby

The Siam’s charming out-the-way location in Dusit makes it popular with Bangkok high society set but the city’s postcard sights and destination-worthy dining spots require at least a 20-minute taxi drive or a hop on The Siam’s boat, which can drop you off at most piers along the river.

Climate

Bangkok is hot all year, and the best time to visit is late November to mid-January, it's still humid, but comfortable. Temperatures rise from March (when the Northern Haze also occurs) until the rainy season starts in late May, and from then until October there are a few showers most days, especially in the afternoon, so an umberalla would be useful.
