Nesting in lush surrounds, well-appointed and generously proportioned cottages and villas are open living spaces designed to offer unpretentious comfort. Bright interiors flow seamlessly into the outdoors and luxurious open-air bathrooms and al fresco showers are hidden in private garden courtyards, with talcum-soft beaches just steps away. Exquisite Beachfront Spa Cottages also boast open-air bathrooms leading into private courtyards each with a massage and wellness zone.

Whether it's breakfast in bed or a romantic candle-lit dinner on the beach under the stars, an intimate in-villa dining experience or dinner in the terrace dining room, the refined cuisine of Denis Private Island is always tantalising. The chef prepares the most succulent dishes and extensive buffets with live cooking stations featuring produce fresh from the island's estate and fished from the surrounding seas for breakfast and lunch. In the evenings, enjoy Creole speciality nights, barbecues on the beach, sushi and sashimi prepared from the day's catch or elegantly-presented five-course table d’hôte dinners in the dining room.

In the Wine Cellar another journey begins as the perfect wine is selected from the inventory of fine New and Old World Wines and is also the perfect setting for a meal with friends or a romantic dinner for two.

Whether sunbathing on the beach, bathing in the lagoon or simply relaxing by the pool, one pleasure folds into another. Wander through the forest, echoing the calls of land and sea birds and discover the island's flora. Join the resident experts on a bird feeding or nature tour and find out about the island's history and conservation projects. Visit the Old Village craft workshops, farm and the giant tortoise colony.

Alternatively, jog around the island, enjoy a game of snooker or a chess challenge in the library, canoe through the clear blue sea or plunge into the lagoon for fantastic snorkelling and diving.

Expert therapists are on hand to deliver a selection of treatments inspired by Seychellios, Indian and Swedish techniques, wonderfully complementing the resort's naturally holistic lifestyle. Using island essential oils, fine sand from the pristine beaches and other natural products, there can be few more idyllic places to rejuvenate and reconnect than in the privacy of the garden courtyard, with the transforming power of nature.

Children are welcome on Denis Private Island and parents can enjoy their holiday whilst experiencing the island’s adventurous magic and treasures with their children. Non-motorised water sports and ocean-based activities ensure that the younger ones can explore the wonders of the rich marine life around the island. Through the PADI affiliated dive centre, families can participate in dive courses and excursions available for beginners and advanced divers alike. Nature tours present the conservation projects and the sustainable programme on the island; this includes a fascinating visit to the farm and estate, while walks around the island will guarantee surprise encounters! Interesting presentations of the island’s history and environmental talks are conducted occasionally.

January to April and October to December are hot with calm seas and little wind, making them the best months for snorkelling and witnessing beautiful sunsets. May to September cool slightly due to winds from the south east, although temperatures are still in the mid 20°Cs, with the possibility of rain showers. Although there are birds and other wildlife on Bird Island all year round, the best time for bird watcers to visit are April, May, October and November.
