Koura Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests in a range of rooms, suites and apartments, all tastefully decorated with private hardwood verandas and complimentary, locally made bathroom amenities. 100% cotton bed linen, pure New Zealand wool duvets and the peaceful setting on Lake Rotorua ensure restful nights and recharged batteries for fun-filled days out.

The legendary 5 Star breakfasts are served in the impressive dining room with its outdoor deck and views of Lake Rotorua. The city is just minutes away and is home to an eclectic mix of local and international restaurants. For the convenience of guests the Lodge has a lounge with tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave and a small fridge.

The Lake is the main focus for activities at Koura Lodge. Explore the lake in Pacific Kayaks, go fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout, a fish found in higher concentrations here than anywhere else on earth, or wander down to the private dock for a scenic flight on a float plane.

Jumping into a lake of volcanic origin might not be everyone’s idea of fun but when it’s preceded by a relaxing Finnish sauna and followed by a dip in the outdoor hot tub, or a stimulating high pressure shower, it becomes much more appealing.

Auckland International Airport or Wellington International Airport

Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from Auckland International Airport

Although New Zealand is great to visit all year round, the beaches of the North Island are particularly inviting during the summer months (December to February). The weather cools slightly between March and May making this the ideal time to hike some of the North Island's fantastic trails, while winter and spring (June to November) are much quieter.
