With a lounge, dining area, private sun deck and a luxuriously appointed bedroom with king or twin beds, each open plan private villa offers guests the promise of a restful and restorative stay.

Breakfasts, afternoon tea and evening canapes are prepared in Azur’s open kitchen using only the freshest local produce and presented either in the comfort of the main lodge or with care in the privacy of the villas. Azur has established relationships with several local restaurants providing guests with a wonderful variety of dining options.

There is no shortage of things to do in this world-renowned adrenaline sports town, from bungy jumping, skydiving and white-water rafting to jet-boating, zip lining and skiing, it’s all here. But it’s not all about the adrenaline rush, guests can enjoy something a little more sedate. There’s some great golf nearby, the fishing and hiking are exceptional, and long lunches and wine tasting is available at around 75 wineries in the Gibbston Valley.

‘In villa’ massage and mini spa treatments can be arranged and each villa comes complete with a yoga mat with private instruction available on request. The indoor and outdoor hot pools that sit high above the Shotover River Canyon are the perfect way to relax and revitalise tired bodies after a hard day of adventure.

There isn't a bad time to visit the South Island.
