Just eight spacious suites blend modern comfort with authentic character, their thatched roofs and décor paying homage to the Himba tribes who call this remote corner of Namibia home. A family suite offers ample room for adventurous tribes, with two bedrooms, each with its own en suite, linked by a shared outdoor deck.

From nature drives across the plains and quad biking on the dunes to boat trips along the Kunene River, extraordinary excursions reveal the region’s dramatic scenery and unique wildlife. Expert guides can also introduce guests to members of the Himba community, a semi-nomadic tribe native to the area who roam the land to breed cattle and goats. With their elaborate jewellery, ochre-tinted skin and traditional clothes, spending time with them is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to glimpse a way of life unlike anywhere else in the world.

As the sun sets on days full of adventure, it’s time for sundowners and stargazing beneath a glittering celestial canopy, untouched by modern-day light pollution.

Family

Children over six years old are welcome at the lodge, and a dedicated family suite offers an ideal retreat. Activities do have minimum age restrictions (for boat trips, children must be six years of age or over, twelve years old for safari walks and at least sixteen years old for quad-biking), and families may be required to book private activities for exclusive use rather than join shared excursions.
