Each of the Ralph Lauren-designed oceanfront rooms has an elegant, sophisticated style. An understated white palette is complemented by rattan and four-poster beds swathed in white voile. Louvred shutters open to private balconies or terraces with garden or sea views.

The 27 luxury Jamaican villas offer from three to six bedrooms, ideal for families travelling together. Some have their own pool and all have a kitchen and open-air living room which leads to a large patio.

Eat

The Restaurant at Round Hill offers daily changing dishes, such as local tuna with Caribbean sofrito, as well as a vegetarian menu. Feast on sea views with lunch at The Grill of produce sourced locally and from the resort's own organic garden. Enjoy snacks and daiquiris at the Pool Bar or a rum nightcap in the Ralph Lauren Cocktail Bar.

Play

Non-motorised water sports are complimentary for Round Hill guests. Snorkel to view coral reefs directly from the beach or kayak the clear waters of the bay. Charter a boat for a day's fishing or skim across the water on water skis. Racquets and balls are available to play tennis on any of the five courts, or jog your way around the grounds on a dedicated path.

Relax on the beach with a good book from the library or tour the immaculate estate with the head gardener to view rare orchids. Evening fill to the sound of calypso bands at beach barbecues and jazz under the stars.

Unwind

The Round Hill Spa is set within a beautifully restored 18th-century plantation house. A range of Elemis products blend with authentic Jamaican treatments for beauty and body. Try a hot stone massage with stones plucked from the ocean.

Find moments of inner calm with a yoga class in the open-air pavilion or work up an appetite in the fitness centre where equipment and views are equally impressive.

Family

The Round Hill children's programme is defined by age group. The Pineapple Kids Club is for youngsters aged three to six enjoying days of nature walks, arts and crafts, reggae lessons and story hour.

The 7-Up Club entertains kids aged seven to twelve with activities like glass-bottomed boat trips and movies with popcorn. Older children have their own Teen Centre for foosball, board games, X-Box and karaoke.
