Fringed by the ocean, South India is a world away from it's Northern counterpart. Chennai, Tamil Nadu's capital, will surprise with an array of museums, cafes and bars, bordered by Marina Beach. Venture further south to bohemian Pudcherry, the former French colony of Pondicherry, where bougainvillea lined colonial streets rub shoulders with Yoga Ashrams. Head inland to the Western Ghats, Southern India's mountain range; take tea on a hill station, or take some time to marvel at the scope of flora and fauna on display.
