Overview

Located on a spectacular site discovered by legendary explorer Jack Bousfield in the 1960s, Jack’s Camp is an intriguing blend of authentic heritage and modern-day luxury. Decorated in a romantic 1940s style with an East African safari feel, four poster beds, Persian rugs and rich textiles adorn the handful of luxury tents, while the large mess tent and Persian tea tent introduce historical touches to the communal areas. Explore the breathtaking Makgadikgadi Pans on thrilling excursions, meet the local San bushmen, or simply relax in complete comfort back at this most iconic of African camps.

Climate

Botswana's dry season, from May to October, is considered the best time to visit with minimal rainfall and warm, sunny days. During this time, water levels in the Okavango Delta are at their highest making it easy to explore the network of waterways. November to April is the green season with wet, rainy weather. The landscape becomes lush and green and this is a good time for birdwatchers to visit, as a variety of migratory birds arrive into the region. However, the rain can make travelling around the country challenging and it may be harder to spot wildlife as animals disperse across wider areas due to the abundant food and water sources.
