Bangkok - Vientiane (3 days/2 nights)
A thrilling journey through north east Thailand to the ravishing Angkor-style temple of Phimai - and on across the Mekong to the fascinating capital city of Laos, Vientiane.

Itinerary
Tuesday - Bangkok
Depart Bangkok in the afternoon. Relax in one of the bar cars, saloon car or in the privacy of your comfortable cabin. Afternoon tea is served as you travel into Northeastern Thailand. Later that evening enjoy dinner in one of the beautiful restaurant cars. Retire to your cabin, transformed into a cosy bedroom by your steward.

Wednesday - Phimai, Khao Yai
The train arrives at Hin Dat station after breakfast. Here you will disembark for a tour to Phimai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Khmer monuments in Thailand. Return to the E&O for lunch as you continue your journey on to the picturesque Khao Yai valley. Here you visit a local vineyard and have the opportunity to taste wines that are being called "New Latitude Wines". Reboard the train in the early evening in time to prepare for dinner. Overnight on board.

Thursday - Thaneleng, Vientiane
After breakfast, the E&O will cross the Mekong River via the Friendship Bridge and enter Laos for the very first time.

Pullman Superior cabin and include all table d'hôte meals on board, with complimentary tea and coffee in your cabin, and sightseeing tours as described.

Location:	Thailand and Laos including Phimai, Khao Yai National Park, and the Friendship Bridge over the Mekong.
Rooms/Suites:	60 consisting of Pullman Superior Cabins , Pullman Single Cabins, State Cabins and Presidential Cabins
Restaurants/Bars:	4 - two restaurant cars for dinner , Bar Car for cocktails, aperitifs, liqueurs and entertainment and Obeservation Car for early breakfast.
Land Activities:	On board - Observation Car with outdoor smoking area and on board boutique. Optional excursions include Phimai to explore Angkor-style Khmer temples and the vineyards of the scenic Khao Yai hills.
Board Basis:	All table d'h'te meals on board, with complimentary tea and coffee in your cabin, and sightseeing tours as described.
