Travel from the vibrant French colonial port of Saigon, through the vast delta along the main channel into the rich countryside of Cambodia to Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh.
RV Mekong Pandaw, was the first ship to attempt this extraordinary journey in 2003, conquering complex official and navigational obstacles. Pandaw now have four ships plying this amazing waterway.
On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City take a private transfer to the hotel for a two night stay.
Spend the rest of the day lazing by the hotel pool or relaxing at the spa.
The New World Saigon Hotel, is luxury 5 Star hotel ideally located for the major tourist attractions, situated across from the lush 23 September Park and close to the Ben Thanh Market some of Ho Chi Minh most popular tourist attractions are on its door step.
Take a morning transfer from the hotel to embark on the Pandaw cruise. On arrival guests enjoy a welcome drink, a briefing and some lunch before setting sail across the vast Mekong Delta.
In the morning visit Cai Be floating market on the canals and backwaters before continuing to Sa Dec, via Vinh Long Province. Sa Dec has an interesting local market and the ancient house of Mr, Huyn Thuy Le, Marguerite Duras, the famous French novelist whose book was immortalised in the film L’Indochine.
There are optional visits to moslem cham tribal village and a cat-fish farm in Chau Doc or guest may wish to choose to do their own thing and take off on one of our mountain bikes provided on the ship.
The local market is great and the catholic church well worth a visit. Return to the ship for lunch and cast off for the Cambodian border mid-afternoon.
Disembark in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, after breakfast and transfer to the Amanjaya Pancam Hotel for a two night stay.
Built on Phnom Penh’s riverside, Amanjaya Pancam is a French Colonial style hotel featuring generous suites, each elegantly decorated with local materials including rosewood and Cambodian raw silk. Every room has a stunning riverscape of the Tonle Sap River and view of the vibrant life of the Cambodian’s capital city.
Guests can enjoy a day at leisure to relax or explore the city.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the return flight.
All entrance fees, guide services, crew gratuities, main meals, soft drinks, local beer & spirits, coffee and selection of teas plus mineral water are included on the cruise.
